Professional Experience
Anujan’s practice is centered on complex commercial litigation. Known for being pragmatic and meticulous, he is committed to developing strategic solutions tailored to meet clients’ specific needs. With over five years of intensive experience in complex litigation and trials, Anujan prides himself on his ability to distill complicated facts and legal issues into simple and digestible issues for the judge and jury. He has successfully handled a range of jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations, showcasing at a relatively early stage of his career his ability to navigate high-stakes legal environments.
Anujan graduated from Wake Forest University in 2016 with degrees in Economics and Political Science and from the UC Davis School of Law in 2019. During law school, he served as a Senior Articles Editor for the UC Davis Law Review and was also a member of the Trial Practice Honors Board, where he refined his advocacy skills. He has also been inducted into the Order of Barristers, a national honor society that recognizes law students and practicing lawyers for their skills in oral advocacy, brief writing, and trial advocacy.
Representative Matters:
- Representing Sumitomo Rubber North America in a $50 million breach of contract case against American Tire Distributors, Inc.
- Successfully represented a technology firm in a complex, multi-party fraud matter.
- Defended a large retail corporation in a multi-million-dollar breach of contract lawsuit.
- Advocated for a major pharmaceutical company in a class action lawsuit involving product liability claims.
Prior Professional Experience:
Anujan was a Judicial Law Clerk for Chief Justice Tani Cantill-Sakauye of the California Supreme Court. He was also a law clerk for the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Offices and UC Davis Civil Rights Clinic, where he successfully prosecuted criminal jury trials and argued an appeal in front of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Before joining Murphy Rosen LLP, he was an associate at Gordon & Rees and Fox Rothschilds in their San Francisco offices. Anujan was also in-house counsel for Paylocity, where he managed their litigation docket and provided strategic employment counseling and advice.
