Professional Experience

Hayk (/hīk/) Kosaian is an associate at Murphy Rosen. He is an active and hard-working member of our trial teams in our commercial, probate, and employment litigation practice areas.

A graduate of Loyola Law School, Hayk served in leadership positions for the Armenian Law Student Association and PESA (Parents, Educators, and Students in Action), a charity dedicated to creating a better future for young Angelenos through advocacy, mentorship, and education. He also was a key member in Loyola’s prestigious Byrne Trial Advocacy Team, helping it become the fourth ranked mock trial team in the nation. Prior to law school, Hayk’s career path took him all over the world, including Panama and Ghana, where he served as a medical volunteer, and Washington DC, where he worked as an Intern Investigator for DC’s Public Defender Service.

With a strong analytical approach, attention to detail, and a client-first mindset, Hayk is committed to helping clients navigate legal challenges and achieve their goals. He is admitted to practice in California and is a member of the Armenian Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association.

Representative Matters:

  • Member of the trial team that has already tried several phases of a hard-fought probate case involving a widower whose wife’s relatives are contesting his ownership and control of the couple’s estate. The case remains active with additional trials pending.
  • Part of a two-attorney team representing a group of investors against a hedge fund accused of failing to honor the terms of their real-estate investment contract, resulting in significant financial harm.
  • Representing a developer of Artificial Intelligence technology against a tech-giant who severed ties with the developer upon proof of concept.
  • Representing, pro bono, the former Superintendent of a school district in a legal dispute involving breach of contract, wrongful termination, and gender-based discrimination claims.

Prior Professional Experience:

Prior to joining Murphy Rosen, Hayk worked as a law clerk at Douglas Hicks Law, where he assisted with a broad range of civil and criminal matters, including successfully defending a client against false accusations of Bitcoin theft.
